Maskal heads to Birmingham

Musician Maskal is set to perform in Birmingham in the United Kingdom at the Miss Malawi UK beauty pageant.

The urban music heartthrob will leave the country for UK on November 27 and will perform on November 30.

Apart from performing at the event, the mellow-voiced Afro pop maestro is expected o record a single and video which will debut in the UK before being released locally.

Speaking to The Nation, Maskal said he is excited by the trip, saying there are not many musicians that have the chance to perform overseas.

“This is not only a personal achievement, but also to the whole music industry because it shows that we are doing well in Malawi as far as music is concerned,” said the Zili ndi Iwe hit-maker.

He further added that the trip will also help expose Malawian music on other platforms.

Malawian rapper based in Ireland, Pop Dogg, will be among the artists that will share stage with Maskal.
